Site / Office Based (5 Days)

My client is the rapidly growing European subsidiary of a global Film company who specialise in lighting, rigging, generators, etc. They also own film studios as well as facilitate studios for other organisations. They seek a reliable, self-motivated individual to work as a Consumables Stores Person as part of their operations department in Colnbrook.

You will have experience of Stock Processing, Stock Storage making best use of Space available, Maintaining Stock Levels, Following Audit procedures for Stock entering and leaving the Department, Secure high value Stock, Complete regular Stock Checks, Adherence to quality checks, etc.

Key Duties

  • Process departmental return area to ensure efficient flow of equipment around the department.
  • Ensuring that all stock and internal use supplies are stored efficiently and securely making best use of available space.
  • Follow procedures to ensure stock levels are maintained at all times and audit trail procedures are completed for stock leaving and entering the department for internal use.
  • Ensure all items but specifically high value stock lines such as LED ribbon and High Value lamps are secured and controlled at all times.
  • Assist the Senior Consumables Store Person to complete regular cycle counts of the department to ensure stock levels are maintained at appropriate and accurate levels at all times.
  • Highlight any inventory anomalies to the Senior Consumables Store Person and assist with investigating and resolving where required.
  • Ensure stock is checked and returned to the correct locations within the department.
  • Follow procedures to ensure the stock, order fulfilment and end of life process for spare lamp stocks is efficiently controlled.
  • Highlight to the Senior Consumables Store Person and/or inventory team where stock adjustments are necessary.
  • To immediately escalate any areas of concern relating to inventory and asset control to the Senior Operational Management team.
  • To provide cover for the Senior Consumables Store Person during periods of leave, absence or unavailability.

Order Processing and Quality Control

  • To meet the highest standards of customer service levels when it comes to presentation of equipment.
  • Ensuring that all despatched orders are correctly packaged and labelled in accordance with customer and internal requirements.
  • Ensure all returned orders are identified quickly and returns are logged on the inventory system against the correct order.
  • Ensure all equipment sent out down for despatch has been quality checked to the required standard.
  • Ensuring that shortages on orders are reported quickly and that steps are taken to rectify shortfalls.
  • Ensure the goods in receiving process is actioned and that the appropriate member of staff is notified of a delivery/receives their delivery in a timely manner.
  • To provide cover for the Senior Consumables Store Person during periods of leave, absence or unavailability.

Health & Safety

  • At all times demonstrate a commitment to driving a culture of safety across the department.
  • At all times maintain clear pedestrian and evacuation routes through the departments.
  • Follow set procedures relating to the storage and handling of Hazardous related items.
  • Escalate areas of concern through the correct channels.

Essential Skills

  • Must be IT literate with a good understanding of Microsoft office software.
  • Good understanding of operating systems inventory tracking system and Microsoft Teams.
  • Very good communication skills.
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced environment with the highest expectations of service and quality.
  • Committed to continual improvement and development.
  • Flexible to work overtime and occasional weekends as the needs to the business require.

General

  • Must be able to confidently communicate with colleagues receiving instruction and giving advice.
  • Be able to build strong working relationships with colleagues.
  • To be able to work under pressure and to challenge deadlines.
  • Experience with stock control systems would be an advantage.
