This full-time role as a Project Engineer will be mainly based between our site on the Isle of Wight and home-based. The Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of delivery, including project planning, engineering, and execution. Day-to-day tasks will involve developing and managing project timelines, ensuring technical specifications are met, collaborating with teams, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. The role requires hands-on involvement in ensuring quality and technical standards are upheld. Archipelago Yachts is a dynamic environment and an ability to adapt your skills and experience to the required day-to-day is essential.
Qualifications
- Strong people skills, with a natural ability to liaise effectively with clients, builders, naval architects, and stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills including planning and execution of complex projects. Specific project management qualifications are not necessary.
- A background in either engineering or naval architecture would be preferable ensuring a good understanding of how engineering projects come together.
- Proficiency in standard workplace toolsets such as Office (especially Excel) is essential.
- A knowledge/understanding of how to use Solidworks/Rhino/AutoCAD is necessary, preferably with demonstrable experience of working with engineering drawings etc.
- Problem-solving ability and excellent attention to detail.
- Marine experience either in the marine or yacht-building industry, or hands-on experience sailing/boating/crewing would also be valuable.
- Relevant degree (such as Engineering/Naval Architecture) or equivalent hands-on experience.
