Responsibilities include planning, organising, and carrying out operations in accordance with well programmes, operator’s requirements, and contractual obligations. Good communication is maintained with the Client Representative and other Rig Managers. Drilling practices are carried out safely and adhere to operator's and Archer’s procedures.

Key tasks involve:

  • Reviewing requested amendments to rig specific operating procedures and approving them within the Archer document suite.
  • Generating new operating procedures (with support from offshore personnel) and implementing them within the Archer document suite.
  • Ensuring the Operator is satisfied with Archer’s performance, with no complaints received regarding operations or quality of personnel.
  • Managing underperformance of personnel as per Archer procedures and monitoring through to completion.
  • Considering Archer’s contractual interests at all times.
  • Meeting objectives of Incentive Programmes with minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
  • Ensuring Third Party services supplied through Archer protect the best interests of Archer and the Operator.
  • Visiting Rig(s) on a monthly basis, or more often as necessary, to monitor operations, complete inspections, and communicate with the workforce.
  • Closely monitoring operations, anticipating problems, and creating solutions to avoid unnecessary expenditure.
  • Demonstrating full support and compliance with Archer HSE&Q Management Systems and Company Policies.
  • Holding IWCF Surface Well Control – Supervisor Level accreditation.
  • Providing full support for the achievement of corporate, divisional, operational, and individual objectives.
