Archer UK currently have an exciting opportunity for a HSE Advisor to join the team. The successful candidate will be part of our new Workover Rig team, ensuring safety is at the core of everything from construction through to operations. You will contribute towards the development of HSE policies and practices which will deliver HSE excellence for the company’s offshore and on-shore operations. You will be based in Blackburn, Aberdeen with some time spent offshore. You will join on a full time, permanent basis.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide advice, guidance and information concerning safety, health and environmental issues, existing and proposed legislation, codes of practice and industry standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of procedures within the organisation necessary to comply with them.
- Liaise with external bodies such as enforcing authorities, legislative agencies, industry organisations so that the Company remains informed and can plan for change.
- Conduct risk assessments, developing HSE Plans and other relevant documentation in support of the company, clients and product lines.
- Develop and maintain systems and procedures to identify and improve the company’s HSE performance.
- In co-operation with other departments, ensure that sufficient training and instruction in HSE matters is provided so that members of the workforce understand the requirement to work safely in accordance with Company management system.
- Carry out internal and external HSE audits of offshore/onshore worksites and any subcontractor activities.
- Lead HSE investigation and reporting, together with providing recommendations and corrective actions required.
- Provide support to ensure that non-conformances, defects and deficiencies relating to HSE matters are reported, and that corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence.
- Establishing and maintaining effective communication systems with our internal customers.
- Have a good understanding of Safety Case requirements/assessments.
- Understand Performance Standards, and their applicability to new and existing assets.
- Human Machine Interface (HMI) support.
- Human factors support, proactive approach.
Requirements:
- NEBOSH Certificate essential.
- Lead Auditor qualification preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Rig Intake experience/exposure preferred.
- Offshore BOSIET / MIST.
- UKOOA Medical.
- Self-motivated.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
