SEND Teacher Position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND teacher to join a committed teaching team, specialising in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs and abilities of pupils with ASD and SLD.
  2. Implementing effective strategies and interventions to support the academic, social, and emotional development of pupils with SEND.
  3. Creating and maintaining a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes independence, confidence, and self-esteem among pupils with SEND.
  4. Collaborating with the SENCO, support staff, and other members of the school team to develop and implement Individual Education Plans and behaviour management strategies for pupils with ASD and SLD.
  5. Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, identifying areas for development, and providing regular feedback to inform teaching and learning strategies.
  6. Establishing positive relationships with pupils, parents, and external agencies, maintaining open communication and partnership working to support the holistic needs of pupils with SEND.
  7. Participating in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and contribute to the continuous improvement of SEND provision.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent recognised teaching status.
  • Experience teaching pupils with ASD and SLD.
  • Sound knowledge of SEND legislation, best practices, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching approaches and differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEND.
  • Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the classroom and school community.
