SEND Teacher Position
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND teacher to join a committed teaching team, specialising in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs and abilities of pupils with ASD and SLD.
- Implementing effective strategies and interventions to support the academic, social, and emotional development of pupils with SEND.
- Creating and maintaining a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes independence, confidence, and self-esteem among pupils with SEND.
- Collaborating with the SENCO, support staff, and other members of the school team to develop and implement Individual Education Plans and behaviour management strategies for pupils with ASD and SLD.
- Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, identifying areas for development, and providing regular feedback to inform teaching and learning strategies.
- Establishing positive relationships with pupils, parents, and external agencies, maintaining open communication and partnership working to support the holistic needs of pupils with SEND.
- Participating in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and contribute to the continuous improvement of SEND provision.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent recognised teaching status.
- Experience teaching pupils with ASD and SLD.
- Sound knowledge of SEND legislation, best practices, and evidence-based interventions.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches and differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEND.
- Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the classroom and school community.
