The Role

For the first six months, you’ll work in a supportive emotional wellbeing helpline environment, delivering in-the-moment emotional support and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) via telephone, live chat, and video. You will develop essential skills in safeguarding, risk assessment, and clinical evaluation, all in line with the BACP Ethical Framework. You will also manage structured video counselling sessions (including CBT-based work), which can contribute towards your BACP accreditation hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver responsive, professional telephone counselling services
  • Conduct client needs assessments and recommend appropriate support
  • Provide immediate, solution-focused interventions where appropriate
  • Work effectively with a range of presenting issues, including high-risk cases
  • Maintain accurate, confidential case records
  • Apply safeguarding and risk management procedures in line with policy
  • Respond to email and web-based counselling enquiries promptly
  • Manage a caseload of structured video counselling sessions
  • Consistently deliver high-quality client care

What You’ll Bring

  • Level 4 Diploma in Counselling (or above)
  • Minimum 100 hours of supervised counselling practice
  • BACP Registered Graduate (or equivalent professional body membership)
