Archer UK currently have an exciting opportunity for a Well Services Planner to join the team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the lifecycle management of WS Global assets fleet, ensuring optimal availability, performance, and value.

This role provides tactical direction for asset utilization and deployment, including defining and sourcing equipment for key projects that support international growth.

You will collaborate closely with operations, sales, engineering, logistics, and supply chain teams across multiple regions to ensure timely delivery of well services and optimal utilisation of both personnel and equipment.

You will be based in Blackburn, Aberdeen. You will join on afull-time, permanent basis.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Resources Planning, including capacity Planning by developing and implementing tactical asset management plans to support operational demands and international deployment.
  • Work closely with operations and sales teams to forecast resource needs (equipment) and coordinate with Operations and Engineering to align asset readiness with project requirements globally.
  • Support resource allocation decisions based on project priorities, equipment condition, and lead time.
  • Ensure Process Adherence for accurate asset records and data integrity in asset management systems.
  • Establish and monitor asset performance metrics and implement corrective actions or improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international regulatory standards and certification requirement.
  • Lead asset audits and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in asset management processes and cost control.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to ensure equipment certification, maintenance, and readiness meet operational requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate data within resource planning tools, ERP systems, and tracking platforms.
  • Support decision-making for resource allocation based on job urgency, equipment condition, lead times, and customer priorities.
  • Ensure adherence to all compliance requirements, including regulatory, HSE, and internal certification standards relevant to wireline operations.
  • Lead or support internal audits related to planning processes, resource management, and operational compliance.
  • Develop and track KPIs such as utilisation, readiness, scheduling accuracy, and cost efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in planning, scheduling, and resource optimisation processes.
  • Support international or multi-region coordination of wireline resources when required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in wireline operations, planning, or related Well Services roles.
  • Strong understanding of wireline tools, equipment readiness, deployment workflows, and operational requirements.
  • Experience with planning or ERP tools (e. g. IFS, RTMS, or similar).
  • Demonstrated analytical and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities and operational awareness.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic thinking with strong problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines under pressure.
  • Collaborative team player who adapts well to changing operational demands.
  • Right to work in the UK is essential.
