The Regulatory Affairs Specialist ensures global regulatory compliance and market access for ADM’s portfolio in flavours, colours, flavour systems, food, beverages, and food services. The role conducts regulatory assessments to confirm product permissibility and suitability, supporting business growth and alignment with global standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance of Halal and Kosher certifications for ADM sites in UK and European contract manufacturers.
  • Maintaining current certification and regulatory documentation.
  • Acting as the main liaison for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Representing Regulatory Science & Affairs (RSA) in cross-functional meetings.
  • Supporting new product launches and market authorisations.
  • Ensuring consistent application of ADM policies and processes.

The position also monitors evolving regulatory requirements in the UK and industry best practices, providing recommendations to management on emerging risks and opportunities to maintain compliance and enable market access.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive regulatory assessments to determine product permissibility and suitability, ensuring global compliance and alignment with business strategy.
  • Assess raw materials and finished products in accordance with European and international food law regulations.
  • Develop, maintain, and provide accurate regulatory documentation for internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Respond to technical and regulatory inquiries from customers by coordinating with relevant internal departments (Quality Assurance, Production, etc.) and providing appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Implement legal and regulatory changes in collaboration with affected departments to maintain compliance across the portfolio.
  • Represent Regulatory Science & Affairs in meetings with internal and external stakeholders, promoting ADM’s regulatory expertise and ensuring consistency with corporate policies and processes.
  • Prepare and maintain product documentation to support customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with RSA colleagues and local ADM teams to support new product launches, product transfers, and market authorisations within the EU/UK and other relevant regions.
  • Monitor evolving regulatory frameworks, guidelines, and industry best practices. Provide strategic recommendations to management on potential impacts, risks, and opportunities, and drive implementation of necessary actions.

  • Solid understanding of relevant food industry regulations and standards, including religious certifications (Halal, Kosher), and applicable to ADM’s portfolio in flavours, colours, and food and beverage applications.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a regulatory role within the food industry in the UK or EU.

Desired Experience:

  • Proficiency in SAP or D365 is an advantage.
