At ADM Protexin, we’re redefining pet and human health through functional nutrition. We’re looking for a Product Development Operative to play a key role in our New Product Development (NPD) pipeline—supporting both Protexin branded innovations and client-led briefs.
This is a fast-paced, highly collaborative role where you’ll help translate concepts into commercially viable, high-performance products. Working at the intersection of science, manufacturing, and customer needs, you’ll support the development of functional products across a range of formats.

- Coordinate activities required to deliver launch-ready, functional nutrition solutions
- Plan and run development and compatibility trials using lab-scale and pilot equipment
- Translate customer briefs into practical formulations and trial plans
- Collaborate with Development Scientists to optimise functional ingredient performance and stability
- Work closely with contract manufacturers to scale up and commercialise new products
- Troubleshoot formulation and process challenges, ensuring robust, manufacturable solutions
- Maintain detailed project records and manage workflows via ERP systems
What we’re looking for: You’re hands-on, commercially aware, and thrive in a role where no two projects are the same.
Essential:- Experience in pet nutrition / animal feed NPD, ideally with functional products

- Ability to interpret and respond to customer or commercial briefs
- Confident working across both lab-based and computer-based tasks
- Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
- Degree in Chemistry, Material Sciences, or related discipline
- Knowledge of functional ingredients (e.g. probiotics, prebiotics, nutraceuticals)
- Experience with contract manufacturing and scale-up
- Familiarity with dosage formats such as powders, capsules, tablets, and pastes
- Understanding of microbiology and stability considerations
