About ADM Protexin Ltd: ADM Protexin LTD manufactures innovative, research based live bacteria products of the highest quality for the veterinary, human, agriculture and equine healthcare markets. With head office, manufacturing and distribution facilities based in Somerset, ADM Protexin distributes to over 90 countries worldwide.

The Role: Responsible for raw material inspection and release, raw material sampling and processing of samples, sampling plans and documentation, testing coordination, and investigation of out-of-specification results, ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical GMP, Food, Feed and ISO quality standards.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Incoming Goods Inspection and Release: Inspect incoming raw materials and packaging against specifications, review receipt documentation including shipment temperature reports and CofAs, and release conforming materials. Report non-conforming materials to Procurement and Quality Management, assist in the resolution of quality investigations.
  • Raw Material Sampling: Take and process raw material samples for internal and contract testing, record sample submissions in the laboratory database.
  • Documentation: Maintain, review and update sampling tools, including the sample size matrix and sampling plans. Review and update relevant work instructions and procedures as required.
  • Management of expired/expiring stock: Manage and maintain raw material stock close to expiry and discuss with planning and procurement which raw materials will need extending and which will be scrapped. Arrange for life extension testing to be carried out if necessary.
  • Auditing: Support the internal audit programme, attend regular walkarounds, and conduct audits of working areas, such as warehouse glass and hard plastics audits.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as QA, procurement, production, and technical to resolve issues related to raw materials and packaging release and OOS investigations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support and initiate continuous improvement activities to drive quality excellence.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Food and/or Feed quality standards.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a team with a strong sense of common goals.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Computer literate.

Education and Experience: Higher level education such as ‘A’ levels in a relevant subject, HNC, HND; and/or Minimum 2 years’ experience in quality assurance or quality control in a pharmaceutical or food manufacturing environment.
