Job Description
Your Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Technician based in Tilbury, Essex. The main purpose of the role is to ensure that all products meet specifications from intake through to customer delivery and to carry out quality assurance checks as per company procedures.
Your Responsibilities
- Work within the company\’s Safety, Health, and Environmental guidelines
- Monitor product quality to ensure it meets required parameters from intake through to customer delivery
- Test wheat, flour, and associated products for Tilbury
- Understand customer and flour specifications and relate these to results entered into the system
- Ensure Central Technical Function receives required samples
- Carry out hygiene, food safety, & quality audits as required
- Work closely with other departments on site
- Ensure all data is entered into LIMS efficiently & accurately
- Assist Compliance Manager in customer & external audits
- Monitor & investigate customer complaints using Achiever system
- Create & issue certificates for customers
- Collect samples for routine and non-routine analysis
- Carry out problem solving and equipment maintenance
- Deputise for the Compliance Manager whenever required
- Provide out-of-hours assistance to site via call-out rota
Your Profile
- A levels or 5 GCSEs including Maths
- Basic Food Safety awareness
- HACCP training preferred
- Experience in laboratory operations desirable
- Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented
