Responsibilities
- Ensure the continuous running of the laboratory to avoid process interruptions.
- Ensuring correct record keeping, maintaining a high level of housekeeping and GLP in line with the expectations and requirements of ADM EU Oilseeds.
- Routine performance checks, maintenance of equipment to ensure it is fit for purpose, investigate and resolve as appropriate.
- Develop and implement training of all Laboratory Technicians.
- Ensure work is conducted safely at all times.
- Carry out lab audits making corrective actions as appropriate.
- Stock control / Purchase requisites / Stock management of laboratory consumables.
- Method development and validation.
- Development of written methods / review of existing methods and related lab documentation.
- Coordinate and carry out analysis of all incoming samples in all sections of the laboratory as required, including taste testing of finished product, Salmonella and monitoring samples.
- Provide support to the Laboratory Manager and cover daily tasks in their absence.
- Provide cover for Lab Tech (day & night shift Monday to Friday) in their absence.
Qualifications
- A-level chemistry or equivalent.
- 3 years laboratory experience, ideally in an accredited lab within the food industry.
- Method development and validation experience.
- Ideally trained to carry out taste tests.
- Lab maintenance knowledge and user experience of GC, ICP and HPLC systems.
