The Mechanical Technician provides mechanical engineering services across the Purfleet Packhall. The position is an integral part of the maintenance team and will involve performing reactive, planned and predictive maintenance tasks on packaging lines. This role is part of a collective agreement.
Your Responsibilities:
• Performing planned maintenance inspections on mechanical apparatus throughout the packaging facility
• Repairing and installing a wide range of mechanical equipment using precision maintenance techniques
• Inspecting equipment and participating in equipment health discussions
• Responding to breakdowns/repairs in support of production.
• Using the CMMS system to raise and update work orders
• Participate in the creation risk assessment and method statements for maintenance tasks
• Understanding of maintenance metrics
• Support organisational initiatives
• Mentor and coach colleges/apprentices where needed
Your Profile:
• Mechanical maintenance apprenticeship
• Experience in industrial maintenance environment
• A strong affinity to the process industry (or experience working at this level).
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally, written and electronically through email
• Experience of using Microsoft computer packages
• CMMS knowledge is preferable
• Working at height and confined space working will be required
• Ability to problem solve
• Reliable and adaptable
• Ability to work in a team
• Machining and welding
