An opportunity has arisen for a Transport Operative (night shift) based in Corby, Northamptonshire. This role is responsible for the smooth running out of hours of the Distribution and Weighbridge function, this would include good implementation of the transport plan communicating any changes effectively to ensure good customer service.
The role will also be required to drive and operate an LGV vehicle in accordance with Dept of Transport regulations, EU drivers hours rules, other statutory regulations and company safety and health requirements.
Your Responsibilities
- To undertake and promote Safety & Health requirements in accordance with company and site procedures, programmes and targets
- Handle all out of hours calls effectively
- Monitor customer telemetry & maintain regular customer dialogue to match delivery efficiency and customer service
- Liaise with other departments to ensure that the distribution function operates in alignment at all times
- Tanker loading for contractors and pre-load tanks for ADM deliveries as required
- Accurate operation of the weighbridge
- Conduct daily de-briefs with drivers
- Monitor legal compliance in respect of driver’s hours and tachograph records
- Carry out distribution related administration to company requirements
- Drive and operate the LGV vehicle in accordance with legislation including the essential daily vehicle safety checks
Your Profile
- Microsoft Excel

- Ability to route plan and schedule
- Knowledge of bulk flour discharge
- Good communication & Problem solving skills
- Distribution operational experience or experience in a related discipline such as warehouse, garage or weighbridge.
- Understanding of Transport Law
- Holder of LGV 1 licence for vehicle driven
- Experience in Customer relations
