Your Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Performance Analyst to join our UK Milling business, based in Chelmsford, Essex.
This role will play a key part in supporting commercial decision-making and improving business performance through insightful, data-led analysis. Working across Finance, Commercial, Procurement, Supply Chain and Operations, you will help the business better understand profitability drivers and identify opportunities to improve performance.
You will be responsible for creating and maintaining reporting tools, dashboards and profitability models that go beyond traditional financial reporting, providing clear and meaningful insight into how ADM Milling creates value.
Working closely with the UK Milling leadership team, you will help support a more commercially focused performance culture by translating data into practical, actionable insight.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain business performance reporting and dashboards using Excel, Power BI and other relevant tools.
- Support the development of profitability models across mills, products, customers and channels.
- Analyse commercial, operational and financial data to identify trends, opportunities and risks.
- Help quantify and explain the drivers of profitability across Commercial, Procurement, Operations and Distribution.
- Support monthly performance reviews through the preparation of meaningful management information.
- Assist in the development of customer-level profitability analysis and value creation reporting.
- Work with Commercial teams to understand the impact of pricing, mix and volume changes.
- Work with Procurement teams to understand the impact of wheat purchasing and sourcing decisions.
- Work with Operations teams to understand manufacturing performance, efficiency and capacity utilisation.
- Challenge existing reporting processes and identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
- Develop a strong understanding of UK Milling economics and the factors that influence profitability.
Your Profile
- A University degree, or on track to complete a degree, in Business, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, Mathematics or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent Excel skills and an aptitude for working with large data sets.
- Experience of Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
- Strong numerical capability and attention to detail.
- Curiosity and a desire to understand how businesses create value.
- Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial awareness and an interest in business performance.
- Self-motivation and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work across multiple functions and build strong relationships.
Previous industry experience is not essential.
