Job Purpose: To be part of a team providing key support to the Farm Trading department, delivering high-quality administrative expertise that helps drive commercial success and strong customer relationships across the agricultural sector.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide proactive, efficient administrative support to the Farm Trading team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Work closely with Farm Traders, supporting daily activities such as handling enquiries, managing contracts, processing amendments, and sharing pricing and sample results.
- Build strong relationships with farmers by maintaining regular contact and supporting ongoing business opportunities.
- Set up new customer accounts and maintain accurate, up-to-date records.
- Assist with general account management including monitoring overdue accounts and managing stakeholders to return paperwork required for compliance purposes (e.g. Warrants, Regen Programmes, ID), escalating where necessary.
- Maintenance of spreadsheets to determine availability/quality and pricing requirements of forward contracts.
- Contact prospect customers via telephone to create leads for Farm Traders.
- Assist the Farm Trading desk with campaigns providing relevant information in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assist with the organisation of farmer events.
- Assist with the organisation of samplers and their workloads during harvest.
Skills, Abilities and Experience:
- One year’s experience of working in an administrative role essential.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) with the ability to learn and work with bespoke systems.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Highly organised, proactive and motivated to deliver outstanding administration support.
- Comfortable with working collaboratively and building relationships with both internal teams and external customers.
