Overview
Are you proactive, customer-focused, and highly organised? An exciting opportunity is available for a Conference and Reception Assistant to join our team, providing high-quality administrative support across both the Conference Centre and Reception at the St Margaret Clitherow Centre (SMCC).
You will play a key role in ensuring a welcoming, professional, and efficient environment for visitors, contractors, colleagues, and conference delegates.
Responsibilities
- General administrative duties, including scanning and printing
- Assisting with updates to conference communications, including the website
- Managing room booking requests
- Coordinating events for Archdiocese of Liverpool customers
- Building positive working relationships in a fast-changing environment
Skills and Experience
To thrive in this role, you should be able to demonstrate:
- Experience working in a customer-facing environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including:

- PowerPoint
- Confidence speaking on the phone and welcoming customers in person
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills
- Ability to manage priorities effectively
- Willingness and ability to quickly learn new processes and terminology
Day-to-Day Duties
- Greet visitors to SMCC and ensure sign-in procedures are followed
- Provide a visible presence and respond to on-the-day issues (e.g. housekeeping or event queries)
- Respond to enquiries regarding room and event bookings, including accommodation details and pricing
- Welcome contractors and ensure documentation is checked and recorded
- Answer switchboard calls, take messages, and respond to queries
- Handle post, parcels, and internal delivery processes
- Support printing and copying requests
- Ensure meeting rooms are reset, cleared, and restocked
- Support the ordering of supplies for SMCC and the Conference Centre

Salary: £27,000

Working Hours
Full time, 35 hours per week
Monday to Friday
