Our client, based in Newhaven, East Sussex, boasts over 50 years of expertise in designing and manufacturing specialized equipment for cleanrooms, laboratories, and hospitals across the globe. To enhance their in-house design team, they are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Design Department. In this role, you will provide engineering support and manage projects for a diverse range of products within their portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and managing multiple ongoing projects.
- Producing detailed designs, drawings, and part lists for the production team.
- Collaborating with customers throughout the design and production phases to secure approvals and sign-offs as required.
- Develop documents like Operation and Maintenance (O&M) manuals, Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS), and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Collaborate with purchasing and accounts departments to produce part lists.
Candidate Requirements:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software.
- Ability to take a design from concept through to the final manufactured product.
- Experience in thermoplastic structural design, sheet metal design, welded metal structures, and basic pneumatic systems.
