We are currently recruiting experienced and compassionate Children’s Residential Support Workers to support EBD (Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties) residential homes in Colchester. This is an excellent opportunity for support workers looking for flexible adhoc shifts that fit around existing commitments while making a real difference in young people’s lives.

The Role

You will be supporting children and young people within residential settings, helping to provide a safe, nurturing, and structured environment. Duties may include:

  • Supporting young people with daily routines and activities
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Building trusted relationships and acting as a positive role model
  • Supporting with education, appointments, and community activities
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports

Requirements

  • Experience working within Children’s Residential Care or EBD settings
  • A caring, resilient, and proactive approach
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins where required
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service preferred (or willingness to apply)
  • Full UK driving licence desirable but not essential
  • Restrain Training
