The Opportunity

As the Controller, you will be the key financial partner to operational and commercial leaders across the UK business. Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Control & Operational Finance
    • Lead cost management across manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial functions.
    • Drive cost‑saving initiatives and efficiency programmes, ensuring alignment with global standards.
    • Monitor and analyse production variances, material costs, labour efficiency, and overheads.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
    • Own the budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning cycles for the UK business.
    • Deliver insightful analysis on performance, trends, risks, and opportunities.
    • Build financial models to support strategic decisions, investment cases, and scenario planning.
  • Business Partnering
    • Act as a trusted advisor to the UK Leadership Team, providing clear, actionable financial insight.
    • Challenge and support commercial, operational, and functional leaders to drive performance.
    • Translate complex financial data into meaningful narratives for non‑finance stakeholders.
    • Ensure strong financial governance, compliance, and internal controls across the UK entity.
    • Oversee month‑end close, reporting accuracy, and alignment with global finance standards.
    • Support audit processes and maintain a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong post‑qualification experience.
  • Proven track record in manufacturing, engineering, FMCG, or another cost‑driven environment.
  • Strong FP&A capability with excellent analytical and modelling skills.
  • Confident business partner with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Commercially minded, proactive, and comfortable operating in a global matrix structure.
