Role Title: Ceded Reinsurance Technician Location: London Department: Reinsurance Date of version: May 2025 Reports To: Ceded Re Operations Manager HR Contact: KR Role Summary and Purpose The primary responsibility of this role is to work within the Ceded Reinsurance Operations Team. This role involves working closely with team members and internal and external teams to ensure Reinsurance contracts are interpreted, entered, and serviced within the XLPro system in a timely manner. Additional responsibilities include working with Brokers, Reinsurers, and Auditors to meet regulatory deadlines. You will be required to assist your team members in continually improving current processes and providing support to ensure the team meets its goals positively. You will also support our offshore team (GSO). Key Tasks and Responsibilities Set up ceded contracts for automation in the XL Pro Reinsurance System Prepare and render Treaty statements, ensuring policy conditions and accounting terms are met Ensure timely premium payments on facultative and excess of loss purchases Calculate, prepare, and render XOL collections and Advice Report Ceded Reinsurance financials internally and externally Adhere to internal controls, including Risk and SOX controls Assist with regulatory reporting, including Lloyd’s returns, group reporting, and terrorism pools Develop relationships with stakeholders to drive efficiency and service levels Liaise with Ceded Reinsurance purchasers and prepare renewal information as required Review and recommend improvements to current procedures Assist with Financial Reporting, Committees, Board packs, and Regulatory Returns Role Requirements & Skills Skills / Competencies Strong Excel skills Experience with XLPro is desirable but not essential Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines/targets Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and use initiative Qualifications At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the company & Lloyds Insurance market is preferred Experience Experience with all major types of reinsurance (Facultative, Quota Share, Excess of Loss) Experience in Non Marine and Marine classes, especially Property and Casualty Knowledge of Ceded Reinsurance Regulatory Returns (SRS, QMA, Solvency II) Interested in solving complex business problems and working with talented colleagues?
