The Senior Systems Engineer (Team Lead) is responsible for the administration and operation of the firm’s Infrastructure. This role requires in-depth knowledge of Active Directory, Azure, MFA, VMware ESX, Windows security, and related technologies. The candidate will be part of the Cloud & Compute Engineering group. Must be a self-starter, experienced in managing projects to completion, well-organized, and possess strong communication skills. This position collaborates closely with the Cloud, Compute, and Messaging Engineering Teams and Senior Systems Engineers of IT Operations.
Job Functions:
- Strong PowerShell scripting experience and operational responsibility over Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and PKI services.
- Experience with Azure IaaS + PaaS and Office 365/Exchange Online.
- Install and maintain hardware and software on a virtualized Windows network.
- Develop processes and procedures to ensure high availability, security, and quality of managed environments.
- Lead Active Directory security consolidation; identify risks, provide remediation guidance, and deliver scripted solutions for security gaps.
- Follow all procedures and policies related to Change Management.
- Develop capacity forecasts to prevent outages.
- Manage crisis situations effectively, even under stress.
- Provide guidance on information security risk and compliance.
- Serve as escalation point for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Be flexible with schedule to handle escalations and occasional non-core hours.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 5 years supporting a production environment.
- 3-5 years troubleshooting authentication services.
- 5+ years automation experience (PowerShell/Scripts/Terraform).
- Advanced Active Directory experience.
- Knowledge of AKS, Kerberos, LDAP, DNS, DHCP.
- Experience with backup/restore, disaster recovery strategies.
- Security systems and controls implementation experience.
- Strong MFA, Enterprise Apps, IaaS, PaaS in Azure knowledge.
- Expertise in Active Directory, GPOs in Windows Server environments.
- Scripting and troubleshooting in Windows OS.
- Experience with Windows user/security admin, VMware, Microsoft Exchange, HP Proliant Servers, Linux, Load Balancers, AWS, and cloud security tools.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and listening skills.
- Effective communication of technical and business info.
- Ability to engage with offshore and development teams.
- Good documentation and presentation skills.
