Role Summary and Purpose
The role is for a qualified actuary, focused on supporting the capital management of Arch Insurance International.
- Ensure compliance with all industry legislation, regulation, codes of practice, guidance and Arch Group controls relevant to the role.
- Assist Arch Senior Management in evaluating strategic business choices on the basis of capital considerations.
- Embed Arch International’s capital model in the business.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assist the Head of Capital to manage day-to-day activities of the capital team in light of all regulatory and other deadlines.
- Provide people management to direct reports and/or technical support to junior members of the team.
- Assist in managing third party communication in light of process improvement process and other projects as required.
- Assist Head of Capital with moving beyond regulatory capital requirement calculations and ad hoc outward reinsurance assessment.
Role Requirements & Skills
- Skills / Competencies: Qualified Actuary with at least 3 years post qualification experience, technical leader with detailed knowledge of stochastic modelling techniques and insurance to maintain, run and develop the capital model, people manager, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, knowledge of PRA / Lloyd’s requirements.
Qualifications:
- Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, or equivalent.
Experience:
- Experienced Capital Management Actuary.
- Experienced people manager.
- Good working experience of capital modelling software experience. Tyche experience is desirable but not necessary.
