The Tax Manager is responsible for tax filings and reporting, including related systems and governance, for the group’s UK non-life insurance entities, subsidiaries, UK and non-UK branches and Lloyd’s entities, and contributing to the success of the wider team.
Key Responsibilities
Producing the quarterly tax provisions for US GAAP reporting
Drafting UK statutory tax disclosures
Preparing corporate tax computations, filings and assisting with associated matters
Providing support for Lloyd’s of London tax requests and submissions
Liaison with internal teams, HMRC, external auditors and advisers
Providing support for Certificates of UK Tax Residence and FATCA processes
assist Senior Tax Manager and Head of Tax (UK) with direct tax technical analysis regarding ad hoc projects
The ability to independently organise, prioritise and manage several workstreams to meet statutory and internal deadlines
Excellent attention to detail
Confidence to ask questions/ challenge information provided and initiative especially in dealing with areas of ambiguity
A proactive attitude to identifying problems/ better ways of working and recommending/ implementing solutions
Strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to communicate tax-technical issues to a non-tax audience and the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders
Qualifications
Qualified accountant / tax professional, e.g. ACA/ACCA/CTA
Experience
Insurance/Lloyd’s experience – desired but not essential
Familiarity with Microsoft Office – essential
