2026 DevSecOps (Information Security) Summer Internship

Role: 8-week paid summer internship

Location: Birmingham

Department: IT – Information Security

Duration: Monday 22nd June 2026 – Friday 14th August 2026

Summer Internship Programme: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented DevSecOps Intern to join our team and support the integration of security practices into our DevOps workflows. This internship offers hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and application security, providing a unique opportunity to learn and contribute to real-world projects in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Best practices in secure software development and deployment
  • Gain knowledge in DevSecOps tools used for SAST, DAST and SCA
  • Real-world implementation of DevSecOps principles in a real production environment
  • Interaction with development teams in a collaborative way
  • General introduction into the information security world

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Expected/achieved minimum 2:1 classification in a Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering or related degree discipline.
  • Arch seeks candidates who have excelled in previous work experience, demonstrated outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement, possess strong analytical, quantitative, and interpersonal skills, and are enthusiastic about the insurance industry.
  • Good understanding of software development and DevOps concepts
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus
  • Interest in cybersecurity and automation
  • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn
