Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning office
  • Utilise CMMS computer software and other computer applications to support the maintenance function
  • Make field inspections and determine appropriate job work scopes
  • Develop work plans for maintenance jobs with necessary information to allow efficient scheduling, assignment and execution of maintenance work
  • Create, use and maintain plant history and other technical files to include information in current job plans to anticipate and avoid job delays (all information must be captured on SAP)
  • Perform purchasing duties as required
  • Stage materials and special tools as required
  • Evaluate job feedback to improve future work
  • Keep familiar with current safety, health, environmental rules and regulations
  • Provide technical assistance as required for maintenance personnel
  • Prepare reports as required
  • Control cost expenditure (SAP and PowerBI access)
  • Sub store control inventory control (Spares, PPE, etc.)
  • Training and Development
  • Required to work overtime and standby duty
  • Re-co equipment inspections and follow-ups not handled by progress team
  • Drive overdue issues reporting from weekly zones
  • MTR led the weekly discussions with the teams

Qualifications:

  • National Diploma (NQF 6/10) in Engineering
  • Preferably a Structured Junior Management Development Program

Experience and Requirements:

  • Computer literate with application of SAP, Microsoft Office, MS Projects, PIVOT etc.
  • Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment in the maintenance of Coating Plants
  • Knowledge of safety hazards and appropriate precautions applicable to work assignments
  • Knowledge of the Roll and Shearblade services plants and responsible areas
  • Able to apply technical knowledge to determine equipment problems and appropriate solutions in swiftly developing job plans
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal form
  • Able to maintain effective working relationships with other personnel including operators, vendors, contractors, subordinates, peers and supervisors
  • Able to read, interpret and apply information from files, drawings, catalogues, reports and manuals
  • Able to wear all PPE and execute all physical duties within the office as well as on the plant
  • Must have a valid driver\’s license
