Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance service on mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure optimum availability.
- Monitor and record performance of electrical and mechanical equipment to determine improvement or optimisation.
- Conduct fault analysis independently.
- General administration and control of maintenance activities.
- Assist with planned maintenance work on all downstream plants.
- Promote 5S activities according to procedure and standards.
- Perform and ensure hazard identification risk assessment process is always followed.
- Conduct inspection as per register allocation (all machines and equipment).
- Perform scheduled logbook and PM inspections.
- Ensure clear and descriptive reporting daily on all tasks and activities.
- Work overtime as requested and perform standby duties.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 / N3 / NCV 3 (NQF 4/10)
Experience and Requirements
- Thorough knowledge and experience on fault finding.
- Good knowledge of PLCs.
- Knowledge of electronic components and circuit diagrams.
- Knowledge of AC and DC drives and motors and generators will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of electrical/mechanical drawings and circuits will be advantageous.
- Experience on hydraulic and pneumatic systems will be advantageous.
- Computer literate (Intermediate level Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
- Post qualification experience in a maintenance environment will be advantageous.
- Experience as an artisan.
- Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
