Introduction
ArcelorMittal South Africa is looking to recruit Instrument Mechanics. The responsibilities include:
- Day-to-day maintenance of equipment
- High-level installation, commissioning, maintenance, and reconditioning of instrumentation equipment
- Implementation of systems within the instrumentation environment
- Completing tasks as requested by SAP work orders, notifications, schedules, and defect reports
- Performing advanced fault finding
- Accepting specific technical responsibilities during plant shutdowns and modifications
- Providing technical advisory and support to maintenance and production personnel
- Calibrating equipment such as transmitters, pH meters, valves
- Standby duties
- Development and improvement of products
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 / N3 / NCV 3 (NQF 4)
Experience and Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Advanced knowledge of instrumentation systems and maintenance of measuring and control equipment
- Knowledge of DCS and PLC systems
- ABB DCS knowledge is advantageous
- Rockwell PLC programming skills
