We are seeking an Acoustic Data Technician to support the collection, management, and processing of high-quality acoustic datasets for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). This role is central to building robust data pipelines that underpin Arcani’s acoustic sensing and analysis capabilities. You will work across field deployments and software development, contributing to both data acquisition and the transformation of raw measurements into structured datasets used for analysis and modelling.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting field-based acoustic measurements of UAS under a variety of operational conditions
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain precision microphone equipment and associated instrumentation
- Ensure accurate labelling, organisation, and storage of collected datasets
- Troubleshoot and adapt measurement setups in real-world conditions
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of data processing pipelines
- Write and test code to process, clean, and transform raw acoustic data
- Support continuous improvement of measurement methodologies and workflows
This is a hybrid role combining office-based and field work. Regular field deployments, including full-day sessions. Office-based work focused on data processing and software development. Test site in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire - A full UK driving licence is highly desirable due to travel requirements.
