We are looking for a Facilities and Maintenance Services Lead to help coordinate and deliver planned and reactive maintenance services across a number of school sites. This position is hands-on, focusing on supporting day-to-day facilities operations, ensuring health and safety standards are met, and assisting with statutory compliance. You will use CAFM systems and work closely with contractors, site teams, and internal colleagues to keep the school environments safe, efficient, and well maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and coordinate planned and reactive maintenance tasks across several school sites.
  • Raise and manage work orders and purchase orders for ongoing maintenance needs.
  • Liaise with contractors and help allocate tasks for effective, timely completion.
  • Use CAFM or similar systems to log jobs, update records, and prepare reports.
  • Operate the FM helpdesk and escalate more complex issues as needed.
  • Support compliance activities and assist with routine health and safety checks.
  • Maintain accurate statutory documentation and service records.
  • Monitor contractor performance against service standards and report concerns to your manager.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for staff, contractors, and school stakeholders regarding daily FM issues.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience in facilities, maintenance coordination, or site operations (2–5 years preferred).
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities are important, as well as competence in Microsoft Office and CAFM or similar systems.
  • The ideal candidate will be a clear communicator with a keen eye for detail and a basic understanding of compliance, SLAs, and building maintenance requirements.
  • A Facilities Management qualification or IWFM membership is beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience in the education sector and a full UK driving licence are desirable but not required.
