Technical Director - Town Planning

Role description As part of a growing and agile business, our Environmental Planning team is looking for a Technical Director with a strong track record of leading the environmental and consenting aspects of projects, with particular experience in building and growing teams. This role suits someone who is passionate about the integration of environmental input within the Planning process – a Chartered Town Planner and the role forms part of the leadership for the Planning and Environmental Assessment and Management (PEAM) Team. As part of our Environmental team, you’ll help improve quality of life. With your specialism in environmental management, or your technical or sustainability expertise, your work could involve protected species, pollution, surface water and materials management, air quality or noise. Role accountabilities You will be working on a diverse range of projects including large scale energy and infrastructure, rail, highways, water and defence projects, mixed‑use development schemes for both private and public clients, public realm and masterplanning projects as well as more small‑scale projects that require a nimble and agile approach. We drive technical excellence in everything we do and promote a flexible and collaborative environment supported by digital innovation. You will play a key role in the successful delivery of multidisciplinary projects across the UK / worldwide. Working as part of the Leadership, responsible for recruitment, growth, actively overseeing bidding and project delivery and leading on some key Clients Leading on the coordination and delivery of planning / environmental work being undertaken by multi‑disciplinary teams, influencing project development and delivering optimal environmental and planning outcomes Support business development activities through participation in external market profile raising activities and functions, and through involvement with key clients. Raise awareness of our services, winning new opportunities and building new contacts. Actively engage in key client relationships, lead by example creating cross selling opportunities for the wider business.
