Overview
In this role you will lead Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for diverse projects within Arcadis’ Environmental Planning team.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality environmental outputs that support sustainable urban and infrastructure development.
You’ll manage client relationships, coordinate stakeholders, and translate technical findings into clear reports for non-technical audiences.
This position offers impact through shaping environmental outcomes across projects and regions.
Responsibilities
- Champion high standards of environmental performance within multidisciplinary projects and influence project development
- Coordinate environmental work across multi-disciplinary teams on a range of projects
- Deliver your work to a high standard and review others’ work for quality
- Proactively manage projects or components, allocate resources, manage subcontractors, ensure QA and capture client feedback
- Contribute to tender proposals and bids as part of a project-winning team
- Provide environmental advice and support to clients, project managers and colleagues
- Engage with consultees and stakeholders
- Collaborate with technical specialists
- Develop high-quality reports and explain outcomes to non-technical audiences
- Manage projects overseeing technical, quality, commercial and health and safety performance
- Key requirements
- Good working knowledge of EIA practices and procedures
- Experience across energy, residential/mixed-use/regeneration, and major infrastructure projects (rail/highways)
- Practical knowledge of the UK planning system and consenting
- Strong report writing, verbal and presentation skills; ability to review others’ work
- Experience in multi-disciplinary coordination, project management and reporting
- Experience negotiating with planning authorities, regulators and stakeholders
- Desirable: SEA and/or IIA delivery experience; knowledge of sustainability, waste or carbon assessments
- Desirable: Associate Member of IEMA
