Role description:

We are seeking personable, enthusiastic, and energetic Quantity Surveyors to join our Cost & Commercial Management team, supporting our growth within the resilience business for a global client in the Water Sector. You will work on water/utilities projects in the Reading and London areas, helping deliver iconic projects that promote sustainability and resilience against climate change impacts.

Role accountabilities:

• Administer post-contract NEC contract processes, including change assessment and payments.
• Liaise with external contractors and consultants.
• Support suppliers with accurate project cost and financial forecasts.
• Provide commercial guidance to minimize cost and scope changes throughout projects.
• Support pre-contract activities, including estimating and procurement.
• Assist in risk and opportunity management, validating costs for project efficiency.
• Participate in lessons learned workshops and risk management meetings.
• Audit and agree on final accounts.

Other requirements:

• Hybrid working with travel between London and Reading offices.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Self-management, prioritization, and ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to learn and develop skills.
• Knowledge of construction processes and cost management in a consultancy setting.
• Experience with NEC contracts.
• Ability to support and manage junior staff on projects (£1m–£20m).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, stakeholder influence.
• Degree in a relevant field (or equivalent), professional membership (MRICS or working towards chartership).
• Experience in water/wastewater or regulated industries is desirable.
