Arcadis’ UK Resilience – Water sector is seeking a Process Design Engineer to join our Design & Engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to regional Resilience – Water Teams, providing optioneering, outline, and detailed design inputs for Frameworks across UK Water Companies and large-scale Design & Build projects with Contractor Partners. You will be involved in diverse and technically stimulating projects within treatment process engineering.
Role Accountabilities
- Work collaboratively with clients to understand project requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of outline and detailed design drawings, as well as other construction‑ready documentation.
- Support the development of feasibility‑level designs and optioneering assessments.
- Contribute to the preparation of clear and well‑structured design calculations, reports, drawings, and other deliverables.
- Work with contractors, the supply chain, and other project stakeholders to support project delivery.
- Participate actively in project meetings and support the team in achieving project goals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a suitable alternative qualification.
- Working towards chartered membership of an appropriate professional body (IChemE or CIWEM) is advantageous.
- Some technical design experience on multi‑disciplinary projects, ideally within the water sector.
- Awareness of Water Industry Clients and Contractors.
- Enthusiasm and good communication skills.
- Familiarity with BIM‑led design and other process‑specific digital tools.
- Understanding of applicable British Standards, UK Industry Codes of Practice, and Water Specifications.
