We are looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer with previous experience working in a consultancy environment to join our Places Design Practice. In this role, you’ll be delivering elegant and efficient electrical design solutions on exciting and challenging projects for key clients. We work with our clients around the world to create, support, and enhance smart, safe and sustainable places where people live, work, learn and thrive.
Role accountabilities:
- You’ll be responsible for leading the electrical design on larger projects, working collaboratively with other design disciplines to ensure the integration of the overall design or solution.
- You will need to present complex technical solutions to clients.
- As a Principal Engineer, you will manage project teams with up to 10 people, providing technical advice to team members, supporting them in their delivery and professional development.
- You will also manage the performance of team members and sub‑contractors, identifying and ensuring the resolution of any issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng in Electrical Engineering or similar.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng).
- Previous experience working in a similar role.
- Prior experience working in a consultancy environment.
- Ability to support and lead junior engineers.
