Planning & Controls Managers & ‘Full Life Cycle’ Project Managers in Newcastle upon Tyne

Arcadis works across major capital investment programmes across Northern England, spanning multi-million and multi-billion £ schemes in the infrastructure, transportation and buildings sectors. We collaborate across the supply chain to ensure client programmes are delivered effectively, efficiently, and meet their requirements. The role is part of our Major Projects team, covering construction management, project planning & controls, and Full Life Cycle Project Management from early stage Business Case Production through to Design, Construction and Handover.

Role accountabilities:

• Hold client‑facing delivery roles working directly with key customers for major projects in infrastructure and transportation, bringing best practice project management, construction management, planning, controls, and risk solutions.
• Bring project management, construction management, planning, controls and risk management expertise and learning to major projects, integrating multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated and value‑adding controls solutions.
• Act as an ambassador for Arcadis’ digital controls solutions, collaborating with data science and data analytics teams to provide transformative and efficient digital controls solutions.
• Serve as an active member within Arcadis’ Global Project & Programme Controls community, supporting growth and development of staff, clients, partners and industry bodies.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Project management, construction management and/or planning and controls professional with experience across a variety of projects in infrastructure, transportation and/or buildings sectors.
• Well‑rounded professionals with experience and qualifications across project management, construction management, project controls, planning (schedule management), risk management, digital solutions and cost engineering.
• A solid understanding across these areas, combined with passion for learning and agility, is required.
• Experience working across the supply chain, including client‑side, consultant, contractor and designer perspectives.
• Experience spanning all stages of the project/programme life cycle, from mobilisation, set‑up, delivery, handover and benefits realisation.
• Holding a degree or diploma in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Holding qualifications aligned to Project Controls, Planning and/or Risk Management (e.g., Managing Successful Programmes (MSP), APM’s Planning and Controls Certifications, Oracle P6 Certifications and Risk Management Certification).
• Additional qualifications & experience as NEC4 Practitioners, Site Supervision / Clerk of Works and Business Change are preferred.
