Our paid Intern & Placement programme is designed to give you a hands-on insight into the work we do as a company and help to develop skills and knowledge within your chosen field. Supported by signposted training, the programme is based on Arcadis’ core values, giving you both technical training and support to help you develop both personally and professionally whilst with us. You will be exposed to real projects and clients and given a range of experiences to immerse yourself into over the course of your 10–12-week internship or 12-month placement.
Our Transport Planners look at ways to plan, improve, manage, and design transport systems at a local, regional, and national level. We provide the building blocks to improving and delivering infrastructure for the future, whilst considering a wide range of issues such as safety, climate change, the economy, and the environment.
You will help design and deliver innovative, sustainable transport solutions that improve urban mobility and quality of life. Working alongside experts, you’ll contribute to strategy development, transport modelling, infrastructure planning, and stakeholder engagement. You’ll use digital tools and data analytics to support projects ranging from active travel and public transport upgrades to major infrastructure assessments, helping clients create safer, low-carbon, and connected cities.
This role offers opportunities to develop your technical, analytical, and communication skills while making a positive impact on communities and the environment.
Accepted Degrees: BEng, BSc, MEng or MSc in - Transport Planning, Transport Planning & Engineering, Transport & the Environment, Geography, Urban Planning, Maths, Economics, Engineering (any description), computer science etc.
Qualifications & Experience:
- You will be working towards a degree in a relevant subject.
- You will demonstrate typical Arcadian skills including resilience, creativity, analytical thinking and being a team player.
- You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to use your technical knowledge to influence and consult stakeholders.
- Willing to travel and stay away from home when required (where possible we embrace virtual working).
