Our Landscape, Masterplanning, Urbanism (LMU) team are looking for a Landscape Architect to come join our growing team, which consists of 90+ people offering the full spectrum of Landscape Architecture, Masterplanning and Urban Design services. The services range from Masterplanning, urban regeneration, strategic planning, design concept, through to detail and implementation as well as Environmental Assessment and LVIA/TVIA. As part of our team you will have a strong focus on LVIA/TVIA projects. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including our sector leading in-house environmental disciplines and high-profile designers, as well as external partners. You’ll have the opportunity to work on some of the UK’s largest, most complex and technically demanding projects. These currently include major large-scale energy generation and transmission projects, important residential and mixed-use developments as well as significant infrastructure projects for National Highways, Canal and River Trust, High Speed Rail 2, National Grid, Network Rail, and Homes England.
However, not all of our projects are large scale. We have equally exciting smaller projects and, together, present a rich and varied portfolio of projects and clients including at national and local levels, and in both the private and public sector. Role accountabilities:
- Demonstrable strong experience of leading the preparation of LVIAs/TVIAs, landscape character assessments and other related studies, and so shaping and delivering exceptional outcomes for clients.
- Demonstrable strong experience in delivering LVIA/TVIAs across a wide range of sectors including residential development, transport and energy infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrable strong experience of direct client involvement and broad stakeholder engagement in the preparation of LVIAs/TVIAs.
- Clear ability to lead by example, playing a key part in multi-disciplinary projects, collaborating with other environmental and built environment disciplines, ideally within a consultancy environment.
- Experience in the managing of staff and commercial resources in the delivery of projects.
- Preferable experience with T&CP and DCO applications including the examination process.
- Expert witness experience would also be advantageous.
- Highly capable and crafted experience in successful high-quality report writing.
- Ability to manage more junior individuals with proactive dialogue, encompassing staff wellbeing and personal development.
- Understanding of staff professional development needs and career pathway.
- Proficient AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite user, Preferable BIM, Project Wise capability.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree/Diploma in Landscape Architecture or closely related subject.
- Chartered membership with Landscape Institute.
- Clear UK driving licence (category B – car), and good experience of post-qualification driving.
