We are looking for an experienced Associate Mechanical Project Manager to join our rapidly growing team and play a key role in delivering one of our biggest data centre construction projects in Finland. Location: you may be based 100% in Finland or you may need to travel internationally (11‑3 day rotations).
Accountabilities
- Pre‑construction: Work with the client and general contractor to create and establish the Master Project Schedule and Master Project Budget. Support contractor pre‑qualification, bid solicitation, bid analysis and provide recommendations. Assist in contract negotiations. Help the client and the client’s team identify, scope, buy‑out and schedule all owner‑direct vendors and consultants.
- Construction: Manage the general contractor and other directly contracted vendors on the ground. Coordinate value‑engineering efforts during the construction phase. Work with the client’s commercial and PCG teams to develop budget management and tracking. Liaise with the client’s schedule management team to provide schedule monitoring, tracking and analysis.
- Close‑out / Fit‑up: Initiate close‑out processes prior to project completion, typically two to three months in advance. Establish close‑out documentation requirements with the client’s document controller; collect and track receipt of all close‑out documents until completion, including warranties, as‑built drawings and O&M manuals. Assist with city and/or other authority final inspections and occupancy processes. Help the client schedule, coordinate and manage all owner‑direct vendors and consultants.
Qualifications & Experience
- An in‑depth understanding of large‑scale technical projects and construction techniques.
- Ability to manage technical disciplines.
- Experience working on data centre new‑build and refurbishment projects, preferably on hyperscale builds.
- Willingness to commit to significant international travel.
