Role description: We are looking for a Chartered Mechanical Engineer with previous experience working in a consultancy environment to join our Places Design Practice. In this role, you’ll be delivering elegant and efficient mechanical design solutions on exciting and challenging projects for key clients. We work with our clients around the world to create, support, and enhance smart, safe and sustainable places where people live, work, learn and thrive. Places impact on the quality of people’s lives. Whether new homes, shops, workplaces, schools and hospitals, manufacturing, research and development facilities, or data and distribution centres. People and communities thrive when the spaces in which they live, work, move and play are designed and managed in a way that best meets their needs.
Role accountabilities: In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing technical aspects of small projects or components of larger projects, meeting financial, quality and timeframe objectives and meeting or exceeding client expectations. You will work collaboratively with other design disciplines to ensure the integration of the overall design or solution and you’ll participate in the development of technical proposals. You will also present technical solutions to clients. As a Senior Engineer, you will lead reviews of project deliverables on behalf of the mechanical engineering discipline and you’ll be expected to manage project teams of up to 5 people, ensuring work is allocated appropriately, resources are fully utilised and that any issues are resolved.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Chartered Engineer (CEng)
- Previous relevant experience in a consultancy environment
- Capability to provide electrical building services expertise
