Overview
In this role you will join Arcadis’ Energy team to support cost management and procurement on offshore mega projects within the energy transition.
You will help shape commercial strategies, manage contract procurement and administration, and ensure value for money across client programmes and projects.
You’ll collaborate with project managers, engineers and supply chain partners to deliver on-time, quality outcomes while navigating risk and change.
This is a chance to influence large-scale energy infrastructure and offshore renewables.
Responsibilities
- Support the Commercial and Procurement Management Team with collaborative, trust-based approach
- Help develop effective commercial strategies at programme/project/category level
- Produce high-quality Tender Documentation and contract documents
- Manage variations or RFQs, including assessment and valuation
- Process payment certificates per contract terms
- Administer Early Warning process and ensure contractual deliverables are met
- Review contractor deliveries and participate in valuation/progress meetings
- Monitor and report on commercial aspects and flag issues early
- Provide advice on contract changes and required documentation
- Prepare commercial cost reports and progress measurements
- Compile Supplier Performance and Lessons Learnt Reports
- Key requirements
- Experience in a commercial environment
- Experience with industry-standard procurement practices
- Experience producing Tender Documentation and contract documents
- Experience with payment applications and certificates
- Experience assessing compensation events/variations
- Experience with Early Warning Notices
- Experience with Final Account assessments
- Experience with cost audits
- Experience with contract management and finance systems
- Experience with NEC and/or FIDIC contracts in major projects
- Understanding of performance measurement, risk management, change and claims
- Strong negotiating, influencing and communication skills
- Effective pre- and post-contract commercial management
- Experience in regulated sectors (beneficial)
- Membership of or progression toward RICS / CIPS / CICES / IOB or equivalent
- Project experience with HV cables, subsea cables and offshore equipment (welcomed)
