Our Scotland Transport Planning team are recruiting for a Transport Planner to drive projects and support our team to help our clients deliver their objectives and outcomes. A key focus for the role will be boosting our STAG assessment and strategic transport planning capability in Scotland. The Transport Planning team is involved in some of the UK’s most high profile, complex and stimulating transport and development projects that are diverse and technically demanding. We have an enviable reputation in the delivery of some of the UK’s and indeed the world’s most prestigious and challenging projects. Our client portfolio includes the City of Edinburgh Council, Glasgow City Council, Homes England, HS2, and national housebuilders, architects, planners, land promoters and property developers.
The range and scale of Arcadis also provides the Transport Planning team the opportunity to work on a diverse range of multi-disciplinary projects through other parts of the business, including Buildings, Environment, Manufacturing Technology and Local Government.

The Transport Planning team operates across the UK, with a presence in Glasgow and Edinburgh in Scotland, the South East, Midlands, North of England, as well as offices in Wales. We require a proven Transport Planner to join our growing team in Scotland to work on existing and upcoming projects. This is an exciting time to join a growing team, with significant opportunities to work in parallel with the broader Arcadis placemaking offer, together with a wide range of internal and external clients.
You should be experienced in working on a range of transport planning projects, ideally focusing on strategic transport projects across Scotland with experience in both the private and public sectors. Educated to degree level or above, preferably in transport planning or traffic engineering. We are seeking a motivated individual, confident at communicating and presenting to internal and external clients. The successful individual should have a rounded skill set in transport planning work, together with experience in public consultation, transport modelling, and report writing.

- Experience in transport planning and strategy development.
- Experience of working in large multi-disciplinary teams.
- Able to support on producing quality bids.
