In this role you will provide senior technical leadership for Overhead Line engineering within the electrical Transmission and Distribution market at Arcadis. You will shape OHL capability, set technical direction, and strengthen client relationships while guiding complex projects to successful delivery. You will oversee technical assurance across major OHL programs and develop people and capability across UK and global teams. You may take on project management duties where governance permits.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical delivery and assurance for major, complex or high-risk OHL projects
  • Establish OHL standards, methods and best practices
  • Act as technical authority and independent reviewer on key initiatives
  • Guide interdisciplinary reviews and resolve technical disagreements
  • Drive advancing technologies, digital methods and governance within projects
  • Plan and direct technical tasks, resources, and budgets to meet scope and schedule
  • Mentor and develop OHL professionals and support succession planning
  • Foster senior client relationships and contribute to bids and strategic pursuits

Key requirements

  • Extensive, recognised OHL expertise in electrical Transmission and Distribution
  • Chartered Engineer status or internationally recognised equivalent
  • Strong consulting, project-management and senior client-relationship skills
  • Experience on large-scale, complex or high-risk engineering projects
  • Knowledge of OHL interfaces with substations, underground cables, civil/geotechnical/environmental considerations
  • Ability to manage quality, budgets and schedules and integrate service lines into cohesive solutions
