We have a specific need for a geo‑environmental consultant to join our dedicated team working on the redevelopment of the former Redcar Steelworks, supervising remediation works, undertaking data collection, site management, task management, reporting and interpretation of results on this important project. We are looking for a consultant at the start of their career, who has experience of supporting on land contamination and/or ground condition assessments.

For the first 1‑2 years of the role, you will be dedicated to the ongoing works at Redcar full time. Depending on your experience and progress within the project, this position has the potential to develop into a site manager role, where you will take on the responsibility of managing other site consultants and supervisors.

Beyond this, you will be an integrated member of the UK Geo‑environmental team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects and conduct a variety of different tasks including:

  • Ground investigations
  • Environmental sampling
  • Technical report writing
  • Environmental risk assessment
  • Development of material management plans
  • Waste classification

In return, you will join an award‑winning team and be part of one of the global top 3 consultants within the field. Working across various projects, you will have the opportunity to work alongside international technical experts and continue building on your experience. Our environmental team works closely with our global colleagues to share knowledge and collaborate on projects all over the world.

The location for the role is the Northeast of England, in a commutable location to the former Redcar Steelworks.

Your Day‑to‑Day:

  • Environmental and geotechnical soil sampling – Collection of soil samples from stockpiles, excavations and trial pits for the purposes of laboratory testing.
