To support our growing team, we are looking for a Junior Environmental Consultant to join our Environmental Planning team. You will work with a wide range of team members to produce Environmental Impact Assessments on a variety of projects and have the opportunity to work closely with our clients from day one. As part of our Environmental team, you’ll help improve quality of life through environmental management, protecting species, pollution, surface water, materials, air quality or noise in some of the world’s busiest and most beautiful locations.

Role Accountabilities

  • Support the production of EIAs and similar environmental assessments for a wide range of infrastructure projects in both the private and public sector.
  • Provide environmental advice and support to clients, project managers and colleagues.
  • Co-ordinate with consultees and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with technical specialists.
  • Develop outstanding reports and communication tools, summarising outcomes to non-technical audiences.
  • Manage projects, oversee performance on technical, quality, commercial, and health and safety aspects.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of producing Environmental Appraisals, Environmental Statements and/or Sustainability Appraisals with a good working knowledge of EIA practices and procedures.
  • Experience of planning processes and various consenting regimes.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of Quality Assurance processes.
  • Ability to work independently or within a client office.

Desired:

  • Knowledge and application experience of sustainability, waste, or carbon assessments.
  • SEA experience.
