Role description:
To support our growing team, we are looking for a Junior Environmental Consultant to join our Environmental Planning team. You will work with a wide range of team members to produce Environmental Impact Assessments on a variety of projects and have the opportunity to work closely with our clients from day one.
As part of our Environmental team, you’ll help improve quality of life. With your specialism in environmental management, or your technical or sustainability expertise, your work could involve protected species, pollution, surface water and materials management, air quality or noise. And in some of the world’s busiest and most beautiful locations.

Around the world, we’re feeling the effects climate change, rapid urbanization, loss of biodiversity. The rate at which we’re seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires, is becoming more frequent. Role accountabilities:
- Support the production of EIAs and similar environmental assessments for a wide range of infrastructure projects in both the private and public sector
- Provide environmental advice and support to clients, project managers and colleagues
- Co-ordinate with consultees and stakeholders
- Work closely with technical specialists
- Developing outstanding reports and communication tools – an ability to summarise and explain outcomes to non-technical audiences will be critical for this
- Managing projects, overseeing our performance on technical, quality, commercial, and health and safety
Qualifications & Experience:
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification
- Experience of producing Environmental Appraisals, Environmental Statements and/or Sustainability Appraisals with a good working knowledge of EIA practices and procedures
- Experience of planning processes and various consenting regimes
- Commercial awareness and understanding of Quality Assurance processes
- Ability to work independently or within a client office
- Desired: Knowledge and application experience of sustainability, waste, or carbon assessments
- Desired: SEA experience
