The Senior Health & Safety Manager will act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, responsible for leading all aspects of health, safety, and wellbeing across a diverse range of projects. You will work closely with clients, stakeholders, internal multi-disciplinary teams, and contractors to ensure safe, compliant, and sustainable project delivery.
Role accountabilities- Lead the development and implementation of project-wide Health & Safety strategies, systems, and standards.
- Act as the primary H&S advisor to clients, project leadership, and delivery teams.
- Oversee risk assessments, incident investigations, and behavioural safety programmes.
- Coordinate and monitor safety performance of contractors.
- Provide expert guidance on CDM Regulations.
- Lead audits, inspections, and assurance activities.
- Develop safety training and capability-building initiatives.
- Maintain project H&S risk registers.
- Represent Arcadis at senior-level meetings.
- Promote digital tools and data insights to improve safety performance.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
- IOSH-accredited experience as Planning Supervisor Design Process (PSDP).
- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
- Chartered membership or equivalent.
- Extensive senior H&S experience in relevant sectors.
- Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation.
- Demonstrable experience leading safety on major programmes.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
