Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services 📍 Cardiff 💰 £45,000 – £55,000 🕒 Full-Time | Permanent The Role We’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established Building Services consultancy in Cardiff, working across a strong portfolio of commercial, industrial, education and public-sector projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an Intermediate to Senior Engineer with a solid MEP background who wants to take ownership of mechanical designs from concept through to detailed design and delivery . What You’ll Be Doing Designing HVAC, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and public health systems Producing mechanical calculations, specifications and technical reports Developing and coordinating designs using Revit Working closely with electrical, structural and architectural teams Supporting projects from concept through to construction Attending design meetings and liaising with clients and project teams Ensuring designs meet current British Standards, regulations and client requirements What We’re Looking For Proven experience in Mechanical Building Services Design Strong knowledge of HVAC and MEP systems Confident using Revit within a building services environment Experience with Hevacomp, MagiCAD, IES VE or similar design software Strong understanding of mechanical calculations and system design Consultancy or MEP experience Degree, HND or equivalent in Mechanical / Building Services Engineering Desirable Working towards CIBSE / IMechE membership or professional accreditation Experience across commercial, education, healthcare or industrial projects Strong client-facing and communication skills Why Join? £45,000 – £55,000 salary Work on varied and technically interesting building services projects Join an established consultancy with a strong project pipeline Excellent technical and professional development opportunities Clear progression towards Senior / Principal Engineer Support towards professional accreditation If you’re a Mechanical Design Engineer with genuine Building Services experience and want to work on high-quality MEP projects, we’d like to hear from you.
