As a Senior Engineer, you will play a key role in our success. Reporting to the Bridges Team Leader, you will contribute to leading on the delivery of technically challenging schemes, taking responsibility for project outcomes and client relationships. This is more than a purely technical design role; it’s an opportunity to grow and make contributions to the management and leadership of our projects. You will mentor junior staff, championing their development and nurturing our culture of technical capability.

Accountabilities:

  • Experience of providing technical leadership and advice to project team members
  • Experience of applying sound independent engineering judgement in the development of projects
  • Commercial awareness of engineering project delivery
  • Maintain and extend a sound theoretical approach to the application of technology in engineering practice
  • Discuss ideas and plan competently and with confidence
  • Effective personal and social skills
  • Experience of delivery to a project’s quality management system
  • Have a sound knowledge and experience of the management of design risks

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Have a BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng or equivalent in Structural / Civil Engineering
  • Achieved Chartered or Incorporated Engineer professional status, or equivalent
  • Have previous relevant experience including supervision of elements of large, complex structural engineering projects - bridges, retaining walls etc across both new build and existing assets.
  • Experience of leading a team (around 5 Engineers), providing sound leadership support, whilst delivering on projects
