Role: Associate Project Manager β Water Optimisation (based in Birmingham, UK). This role supports Capital Programmes in the Water Industry, working with a large multi-disciplinary team on a flagship water infrastructure project at the client site.
Join a Programme and Project Management team delivering transformational outcomes for multiple clients, with emphasis on energy, agility, and attention to detail.
Our Resilience team protects natural resources and supports sustainable water management in the face of climate change and urban development.
Role responsibilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver outputs and standards of delivery; mentor, coach, and develop colleagues to achieve project objectives.
- Monitor and review performance and behaviour of team members in line with Arcadis\\\β risk, compliance policy, and codes of conduct.
- Assure compliance with contracts in terms of delivery parameters and scope of service.
- Analyse and compile complex data and documents, review analyses performed by others, and provide recommendations to inform project decisions.
- Develop processes and review policies for the project, aligning with strategic business objectives.
- Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for efficiencies and cross-project collaboration, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Act as a technical expert within the project, providing subject-matter advice to colleagues to support delivery.
- Manage relationships with clients and third-party contractors to keep all parties informed of progress and expectations.
- Establish and promote a health, safety and environmental culture with opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Embrace digital and sustainable solutions in day-to-day project delivery.
- Collaborate with pursuits teams to identify and pursue new project opportunities with new and existing clients.
Qualifications & experience
- Relevant project management experience including leading teams.
- Experience delivering portfolios of programmes or projects, ideally in the water sector.
- Relevant professional qualification or chartered status.
- Subject-matter expertise in own discipline.
- Commercial acumen and ability to manage relationships with external stakeholders.
- Experience leading and implementing complex business change solutions.
- Experience managing relationships at senior-management level.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with a focus on client relationship management.
- Experience in leading a Health and Safety performance culture within construction projects.

- Line management responsibilities and commitment to developing yourself and team members.
- Driving licence.
